I want to help you elevate the everyday, and that’s why I enjoy sharing recommendations for unique experiences, whether that be dining, travel, or self-care. I recently went to Los Angeles for for some much needed R&R; work was stressful, and I had a lot going on in my personal and family life. While in LA, I came across several restorative experiences that I recommend you check out the next time you’re there. Also, check out the full recap of my vacation in LA for even more LA tips!
The Now Massage (Studio City): The Now is a zen oasis. What makes this massage boutique special is the unique vibe, affordable prices, and ease of scheduling/access. You’re basically transported to a beachy Tulum, Mexico inspired experience from the moment you walk in. I felt relaxed as I looked around at the white walls and beautiful plants. I was offered fruit infused water and then escorted to the massage area. I followed the massage tech through a door and down a dimly-lit hallway lined with massage rooms that each looked like a private, beach-side cabana. My 30 minute massage was relaxing, and I was soothed by the tranquil setting. I perused the bath/body and scented candles in the reception area before heading out. I love that we were able to book a same day appointment on short notice. They also have several locations throughout LA, which makes it really convenient! Make this a “must-do” on your next trip to LA.
Juice Served Here (West Hollywood Location): I’ve always wanted to try a juice detox, and although I didn’t have time to do a full multi-day cleanse, I wanted to at least check out some of the best juice LA has to offer. Juice Served Here is a local favorite, and now I know why! They have tons of juices, and if you’re like me and can’t decide which to try, you can get a juice “flight” where you taste small portions of 10 different juices. There was one with ginger that would be excellent for combating a cold. Others were light and fruity in flavor, and there was even one infused with charcoal. I really enjoyed drinking the juice flight on the cute little back patio. We visited the West Hollywood location, but they have several other locations throughout LA.
Restorative Hike at Griffith Observatory: I’m not really an exercise person (though I really want to be), and when I do exercise, I like ito to be interesting. What better way exercise than a brisk hike up the hills of LA to the Griffith Observatory! I hiked with my friend and one of her college friends who lives in LA. We talked as we walked and then paused several times to admire the scenic view of Downtown LA, West Hollywood, and other neighborhoods. Once we got to the top, it was really serene to walk around the outside of the Observatory and reflect. This was a great way to enjoy the great outdoors in the middle of a city.
